Michael Jordan is one of the biggest names in history, let alone basketball. His influence has permeated through all areas of culture including sneakers and sports while having the power to influence multiple generations.

Jordan began his basketball career in college while studying at the University of North Carolina (UNC) where he was named the Player of the Year in both his sophomore and junior years. Following on from his time at UNC, an inspiration for several later highly coveted colorways, MJ was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 1984 after the Portland Trailblazers chose to draw Sam Bowie fresh from the college playoffs.

Air Jordan is a line of basketball shoes produced by Nike, Inc.  Related apparel and accessories are marketed under the Jordan Brand. What is the Jordan Brand about?

Initially focused on creating basketball footwear and apparel, Jordan Brand has since expanded into other sports including American football, baseball, and global football as well as lifestyle apparel and footwear.

SportsFactory Foundation, a neighborhood-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was established in 2008  as a vehicle for creating opportunities for inner-city youth and adults to engage in sports and fitness activities. Sportsfactory produces a  40 & and 50 & Over Summer League sponsored by Jordan Brand.
These two leagues began in 2006 and brought the best Chicago teams to showcase their skills every June through August in the heart of Chicago’s south side.
