Amber Rose is an American model, influencer, television personality, and actress. From 2015 to 2018, Amber Rose led the L.A.-based SlutWalk to honor all women who have been judged and demeaned for their sexual behavior. The Amber Rose SlutWalk turned out to be an annual non-profit event that played a monumental role in the movement towards gender equality, art empowerment, and the ending of rape culture, victim blaming, and body shaming.
This particular movement all began back in 2011 in Toronto when a police officer told a crowd of college women that if they wanted to avoid sexual assault, they “shouldn’t dress like sluts”. The SlutWalk then became a global-movement with grassroots success in over 200 countries. The Amber Rose SlutWalk, held in Los Angeles, brought in immense awareness and engagement to the movement, with Amber Rose being a leader and voice for the cause. Each year, the Amber Rose SlutWalk provided street parades, vibrant installations, artists, entertainers, and speakers to educate and empower thousands of people across gender, sex, race, age, class, education, and profession. The unforgettable experience was a festival that transformed the language of feminism as we know it.
